"When we got to Day Toyota we were greeted immediately by Matt Krohner. He listened to everything I had to say when I gave him the run down of what we wanted, needed, liked, disliked, etc. He said, Ok, I'll be right back! He came back with two sets of keys, we ended up leasing the very first car he showed us. That showed me that he really listened to what I said and put his effort into finding what was PERFECT for us." -William M.

Toyota Camry Tops Midsize Segment in J.D. Power Initial Quality Survey

The Toyota Camry, America’s top-selling car for the past 11 years, is ranked the number one midsize car in the 2013 J.D. Power Initial Quality Survey.

The annual survey measures problems experienced in the first 90 days of ownership. The current generation Camry, introduced as a 2012 model, features a contemporary design, upgraded interior, a 40-mpg hybrid model and an array of features that consumers like.

Most of the Camrys sold are produced at two U.S. facilities – Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky and Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc.  Camry Assembly Line B, at Subaru’s Lafayette, Ind., received the J. D. Powers Platinum Assembly Line Quality Award for 2013.

Since it was introduced to the U.S market in 1983, nearly 10 million Camrys have been sold.

Car Washing Tip - Make that glass shine!

Clean the glass last, because it will have grime and dirt from the other steps. And find a glass cleaner without ammonia, which most household glass cleaners contain. Ammonia is bad for vinyl upholstery and the instrument panel. Plus, it stinks.

You'll get the best look if you buff glass with a microfiber cloth, which does a great job of getting rid of cleaner residue. That residue, as well as oils from your skin, causes streaks and spots on the inside of windows. Clean glass also looks great. Pro tip: To reach the inside of the rear window on sedans and coupes, use the back of your hand with the microfiber cloth and you'll find you can get much farther down the glass.

TMC to Exhibit Sporty Family-Oriented Concept at Tokyo Toy Show

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) is to display a sporty, open-top family-oriented concept in the Kids Life Zone at the International Tokyo Toy Show 2013, which runs from June 13 through June 16 at Tokyo Big Sight in Koto Ward, Tokyo.

The concept, called the "Camatte57s," is aimed at bringing parents and children closer together as they work in collaboration on building their ideal car. The vehicle aims to convey the joy and dreams of motor vehicles to current and future drivers, by providing an opportunity for parents and children to together experience the fun of driving, car customization and car enthusiasm.

Compared to the "Camatte" concept exhibited in 2012, the Camatte57s allows an even greater ease and range of customization possibilities.

Major Features
1)  Detachable body panels enable easy, extensive customization

The vehicle body exterior consists of 57 detachable small lightweight panels to allow easy and extensive color and design customization.

2)  Open-top roadster styling with compact and intimate interior

The roofless design offers a liberating driving experience while also enhancing visibility to increase ease of customization.

Seats are in a closely arranged triangular configuration with one front seat and two rear seats to emphasize family intimacy and facilitate communication.

3)  Even children can drive

Acceleration and braking pedals and seats can be adjusted to enable operation by children, while an adult seated in the rear-right seat assists steering and braking to help develop the child's driving skills.

Camatte57s Main Specifications
Length 3,000 mm
Width 1,440 mm
Height 1,000 mm
Wheelbase 1,800 mm
Seating capacity 3
Propulsion Electric motor

Note: The name Camatte is based on the Japanese word for care and is meant to signify "caring for others" and "caring for cars."  The "s" stands for the Japanese word sawaru, which means to touch. The name thus reflects the idea that people should feel more in touch with each other and with vehicles.

Summer road trip tip: Keep essential items close!

On your road trip, it is necessary that you have a pack of small essentials ready on your front seat. It is important that you keep certain items handy, like snacks and also first aid items. This will prevent you from having to stop to dig into the fully loaded trunk or find something at the store. Also, let everyone have their own bag or backpack at their feet. Have everybody participate in choosing the items that he or she would like to have it put in the box or in the backpack. You might include favorite snacks, games, music players, magazines – it’s up to each person! You’ll be happy to have these items at your disposal instead of searching for them in the back of the car.

2014 Toyota Corolla coming Thursday, now with LED headlamps

Here's what we know about the redesigned 2014 Toyota Corolla: It will have "aggressive new styling" with "available seventeen-inch alloy wheels" an "available touch screen audio" system and "available LED headlights."

We know all of this because Toyota has seen fit to release a small assortment of teaser images of the 2014 Corolla, with those descriptions attached. The latest to hit the web shows LED lighting clusters, which, to Toyota's credit, don't appear to merely mimic designs already seen in the automotive world.

We should point out that the headlights do share a link to the units seen on the Furia Concept that was supposed to foreshadow the next Corolla, though the most interesting bits – namely the honeycomb inner pattern – have been chucked while the somewhat trapezoidal main units remain intact.

Check out all four 2014 Toyota Corolla teasers in our image gallery above, and stay tuned for the live reveal on Thursday.
